About Boston Rock Opera

Founded in 1993, Boston Rock Opera presents theatrical stagings of rock operas, album and artist tributes, and works by Boston-based musicians. BRO presented  Stardust to Blackstar: The Lives of David Bowie, in August 2016 after a long period of inactivity.

Known for its cult productions of Jesus Christ Superstar and its theatrical premiere of the the Kinks’ Ray Davies’ Preservation, Boston Rock Opera has celebrated a diverse range of narrative music and worked with hundreds of local area performers and musicians. Whether through a full blown theatrical production or a nightclub event BRO’s mission is to explore the power and risk of rock and roll with the challenge of great storytelling.
